NOTCH SESSION ALES (Now at bat)

Summer Session will hit the street around July 4th, and Hop Session around August 5th. Celebrate your independence from the tyranny of excessive alcohol with the American Session Ale.

Notch Hop Session

The number one request from the last month of fedback – “please make a hoppy Session Ale.”  Well here it is, an American Amber with a deep copper color, firm malt body and complex and upfront hop flavor and aroma. However, Notch Hop Session is extremely well balanced, letting the hops shine with a clean dry finish. This is the ultimate in session, as each sip leads to another, and each pint begs for one more. The Hop Session has three US hop varieties, and is hopped throughout the brewing process for a complex hop flavor profile.

Beer geek specs:

SG: 1.045
ABV: 4.5%
Malt:  Pale malt, crystal, malted wheat, munich, caramunich
Bittering Hops: Amarillo, Simcoe
Flavor Hops:  Amarillo, Simcoe
Dry Hop: Amarillo, Simcoe, Mt Hood

Notch Summer Session

This is a Summer Session thirst quencher – flavorful, yet crisp and dry.  Brewed with wheat, oats and rye for a soft yet spicy malt profile, and balanced with German noble hops for a clean, subtle hop flavor in the finish. Unfiltered yet fined, for full flavor and a slight hazy appearance. Notch Summer Session is a style defying beer, not a wheat beer, not a rye beer, and not a Kolsch, but with characteristics of all these styles. And at 4.5% ABV, it is a beer for kicking back on a Summer’s day.

Beer geek specs:

SG: 1.044
ABV: 4.5%
Malt:  Pale malt, malted wheat, rye, oats, crystal, caramunich
Hops: Hallertau, Tettnang
